After a restful night; still a little bit tired after the many paddling yesterday, I drag myself down to the breakfast buffet. Bread, ham, cheese, tomatoes, avocados, eggs, jam, yoghurts, mueslies, fruit, juices, coffee and tea, … the selection is big. This is how a day starts off well: a delicious power breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea and the first rays of sunshine on my back.

Let‘s go to the beach – Let’s go surfing !!
The swell forecast on Magicseaweed says 0.7m from the west, low wind and low tide at 2.00 p.m. The optimal conditions for the house spot. The surf equipment is already in the surf bus and after less than two minutes drive we arrived at the beach As Furnas.
I put on the wetsuit, grab the surfboard and walk to the sea, where the waves have already started to break. We are altogether ten in the surf course, as today Fabian and Elena want to try it themselves and have only rented the surf material.
Kathi, our surf instructor divides us into two groups: Celine, Andi, Lisa, Thomas, Anne and my girlfriend Steffie are in the beginner group and Patrick, Desiré, Jenny and I are in the advanced group. After the warm-up, my group is now going in the water while the others once again practice the take-off on the beach. Kathi explains how to get through the waves the easiest way and after we got washed a few times we all made it in the line up.
Now it’s time to pay attention, when a wave comes pddle fast and strong enough, do a clean take off and ride the wave nicely ….. if that was just that easy. Good that we have our surf teacher with us, who tells us what wave is good, in which direction we should go and gives us feedback afterwards.
